The testimonials below represent some of the success our patients have had at our Bolton hypnotherapy clinic. They are for information purposes only and do not offer any guarantees as results vary from person to person.
“My son had a major eating disorder from an early age, probably linked in some way to his autism. Unfortunately, neither multiple visits to GPs over the years, nor traditional dietician techniques, had much effect.
Nigel spent six sessions with my son, after a free initial consultation to ascertain whether he could help. Each subsequent hypnotherapy session was designed carefully, building on the progress of previous sessions and included details specific to my son. A portfolio of hypnotherapy techniques and scenarios were used with great skill. Self-hypnosis sessions were scripted for my son by Nigel for use in between sessions, to reinforce the progress made. Nigel and I kept in regular contact in-between sessions, to help prepare for the next session.
My son gradually started trying new foods, with no extreme reactions as was the case previously, and is now making good progress. His quality of sleep has also markedly improved. Nigel offers a highly professional and effective service, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others in need.” Mr W, near Stockport (Ref HGL2)
“After having various personal problems and whilst going through an extremely difficult period in my life, I contacted Nigel hoping he could help me. It was clear from the first phone call that he was most likely the person to help me- a genuine concern was expressed and a desire to actually help me. I currently feel on the road to recovery no doubt owing significantly to Nigel's help during our sessions together. I am truly grateful for his assistance in this difficult period in my life.” - Mr M of Bolton (Ref MIP)
“Whilst in the midst of a breakdown Nigel was recommended to me by a friend. Nigel helped me through my difficulties step by step and recommended helpful techniques to me which I still find useful to this day. I found Nigel to be a very approachable, non-judgemental and empathic person and found that the treatment I received to be very beneficial. I would highly recommend Nigel to anybody who seeks the services of a professional hypnotherapist”. - Mr K of Bolton (Ref HTH)
"I recently undertook a course of therapy/ treatment with Nigel Spears of Headstart (based in Bolton). When the course finished, I have to say that, over the two months (roughly) of treatment, I have felt a material difference in how I have felt (namely, I have felt more confident and better able to cope) and in how I have prepared for meetings and presentations (particularly where I have been giving them). Whereas before treatment, I would worry about things which I felt I had no control over, now I feel I can do something about such matters and this cuts down on the anxiety. I would certainly recommend Nigel as a therapist. His approach to treatment is careful and practical, he listens very well (so important in his profession in my view) and clearly tailors sessions to the individual having taken full account of their needs, concerns and overall objectives." - Mr P of Bolton (Ref HNM)
Fear of Collapsing
“Earlier this year, I began to have dizzy, weak spells. I became quite terrified by these which seemed to have no complete medical explanation or treatment. My life was changed in many ways: I was afraid to walk alone, even for 5 minutes at one point, in case I was overwhelmed by an attack, and suffered terrible fears which I had never experienced before; I had always been a very independent, calm person but my life became very restricted. I visited Mediwell Clinic for healing and was advised Nigel may be able to help me.
I had a series of visits to Nigel over the following few months, during which hospital tests were being carried out, and I can honestly say, that in a very patient, professional, kind and caring way he made a huge difference to the nightmare I was experiencing. He taught me deep relaxation, and many wonderful techniques to deal with stress, ill health, childhood trauma, panic attacks - amongst other problems - which have been invaluable in helping me to cope with my situation, so that my life has now become rich and rewarding again. I had suffered close bereavements and 2 major operations prior to the dizzy spells, and it seems the trauma had affected my whole nervous system and physiology. I had also had a very strict upbringing where I learned to soldier on come what may, so that I hadn't given myself permission to recover from the difficult events of my life; my body had literally given up for me! My visits to Nigel played a very big part in my recovery, and I now find I am freer and more confident to explore aspects of myself that I had previously neglected, and enjoy my life more fully and creatively.
I am still healing physically, and pacing myself to help have a full recovery, and I am optimistic that I will, and that my life will be richer through an understanding of my painful experiences. I am most grateful to Nigel for the big part he played on my path to recovery. He was a reliable anchor for me at a most vulnerable time in my life. His work is very valuable, and I would recommend his treatment to anyone who is suffering from complex issues, or even just to have a better, more fulfilling life!” - Mrs M of Bolton (Ref HIC)
“Having enjoyed smoking for the past 50 years and trying everything to stop I thought I would try hypnotherapy which I had been told about by a nurse. I contacted Mr Nigel Spears at his clinic and was told it may take 4 sessions to become a non-smoker. After 3 sessions I no longer smoked but Nigel still gave me my 4 sessions which I must say I found to be rewarding. I would recommend Nigel and his therapy to anyone who wishes to give up smoking." - Mrs J of Heywood (Ref HIO)
“Having developed a fear of injections when I was 12 years old it had got progressively worse over the years to the point where I was having panic attacks and blacking out in the doctors surgery. Last year, at the age of 22, I was going abroad which involved numerous injections and I decided to try hypnotherapy to help control the anxiety I was feeling about it. Nigel was recommended to me by a mutual friend and I went along a little dubious but open minded. After just two sessions my phobia has been completely cured. I am now able to go for an injection on my own (something i was never able to do before as I needed support in the surgery and was too dizzy and upset to drive home afterwards). I can happily say that I am completely calm during the whole process and find it hard to understand what it was that I originally got so paranoid about. I would recommend Nigel to anybody seeking to overcome a fear or bad habit as it really has changed my life for the better and I am very grateful for his help and support." - Miss S of Bolton (Ref HHY)
