Enjoying Nature

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural altered state of awareness that we can drift into when we are comfortable or relaxed, our mind is focused and we become absorbed in what we are doing. It is a trance like state where we are not quite awake or asleep. It is very similar to when we are drifting off to sleep at night or waking up in the morning.

You can only be hypnotised if you want to be and are able to focus your attention. Some people with mild ADD and ADHD can be hypnotised. Because you are relaxed and not asleep in hypnosis, you always have awareness and are in control.

The most commonly known states of hypnosis are awakened, sleep-type, therapeutic and symptomatic trance.

Awakened hypnosis is the one which most adults and children drift into 100’s of times each day. It happens at home, at work and even when we are driving. If you have ever lost track of time, zoned out or forgotten significant parts of your journey; you’ve been in awakened hypnosis.

Sleep-type hypnosis is what we use in therapy. It can be a little or a lot deeper than awakened hypnosis. The depth of the hypnosis does not affect the treatment results. The other main differences between awakened and sleep-type hypnosis are that you are guided into by yourself or someone else and you have your eyes closed.

Therapeutic trance combines sleep-type hypnosis with therapy to swiftly and effectively help break symptomatic trance states.

Symptomatic trance states are persistent, restrictive and destructive issues, symptoms and conditions which often result from shock, trauma or abuse. Fears and phobias, relationship difficulties and unwanted behaviours are just a few.
